About
Me - In general
I am 23 years old, having 175cm height, 75kg weight, and light
brownish in complexion. I hope my body is sufficiently bulky to
match my height. I would like to be called as 'Manu'. I look like
32 even though I am only 23. This may be due to the rough
childhood, which I had. Compared to other children in my age
group, I never found any spare time for playing or any other
activities. In that period I had a hell lot of works to do for my
family, which includes looking after the paddy fields, palm trees
etc.
I
was born in Kalavoor of Alappuzha district. At that time my father
was working in Central Coir Research Institute, Kalavoor. When I
was 4 years we shifted to my mother’s family house, which is
situated at Kulasekharamangalam, a small village near Vaikom.
My
Family
I do not belong to a rich family as such. We are basically
farmers. Our religion belongs to "The Royal Silk-Dress
Makers". Our family name is "Maliakkal" which is
well known in our place. We have few acres of land and paddy
fields, even though the earnings are very little.
My
father has retired from Central Government service and now he is
working as a Consultant with some Coir Exporting Companies to meet
their requirements of bleaching, dyeing and printing of coir and
coir products. My mother is a housewife. I have an elder sister
and younger brother. Sister is married and she is living with her
husband. My brother-in-low is a businessman. He has his own brick
company. Brother is studying in 10th standard and he is a
naughty fellow like me. Our grandmother is also staying with us
and she is laid up in paralytic condition.
Hobbies
- At a glance
I have a lot of hobbies. Not like everyone, anything and
everything come under the preview of my hobby. Collections of
coins and currencies of different countries, name slips, stickers,
matchbox stickers, cigarette covers, bus tickets, pens, magnets,
etc. etc. Now still I am keeping some of them, like Coins, Pens,
Pencils, and Stamps. I never get enough time to participate in any
sports activities but I love to play cricket even though I am not
a good player. Nowadays I am utilizing my spare time to play
caroms. I used to write poems in my late nights. Some of my poems
are available on the net (http://www.manumohan.faithweb.com/poems.html).
Riding motorbikes and cycling are also some of my hobbies.
Place
History
Our
place Vaikom is a joining point of three districts that is,
Ernakulam, Kottayam and Alappuzha. Vaikom is in Kottayam District,
and is situated about 40kms from Kottayam town, which is
known as the "Land of Letters, Latex and Lakes".
Vembanadu Lake is dividing it from Alappuzha while Poothotta
Bridge from Ernakulam. It is a greenish place with lot of canals.
In rainy season we used to catch fishes from this canals. One can
see lot of coir spinning mills, operated by human machines,
in our place. Vaikom gained prominence during the Indian freedom
struggle, as it was the venue of the famous Satyagraha staged in
1925 for the admission of Harijans into this temple. At that time
Mahatma Gandhi visited this place to encourage its participants.
Vaikom town is located on the bank of the Vembanadu Lake and is
famous for its Siva temple, which is one of the oldest Siva Temple
in the world and is a prominent place of worship for Hindus all
over India. The Ashtami festival is the main festival. Lot of pilgrims
alights here to worship the 'Annadanaprabhu (Load Siva)'.
Friendships
& Affairs
Now I don't have any love affairs in the best of my knowledge (not
joking). A saying in Malayalam, which meant, "If you have a
good friend, you don't even require a mirror". But alas! I
don't have such a friend. I love to make friends and already have
lot of friends. But they won't be available when I really need
their help. I tried a lot in helping out my friends in their
problems. But after that not only they will forget everything
but also trying to cheat me. I can show you lot of situations,
which I don't want to explain now. But without considering
the past results still I am trying to keep the habit of helping
others. While helping I will get some kind of satisfaction and
that is the one and only thing, which I am expecting from it.
Career
Graph
After completing S.S.L.C. (Secondary School Leaving Certificate)
in 1992 from Government High School Kulasekharamangalam, I joined
N.S.S. College Cherthala for Pre-Degree. There I was an active NCC
Cadet and got ‘B’ certificate. In 1994 I passed out from
there. Because of the low percentage of marks in Pre-Degree, I
decided to join for some technical courses. In 1994 August I
joined A.I.C.T. Kaloor (Amrutha Institute Of Computer
Technologies), for Diploma In Computer Programming and in August
1995 I completed my Diploma in Computer Programming with “A”
grade.
At
the age of 17, I started my professional life as a
Programmer/Teaching Faculty in Microtech Kottayam. During the
period of 1995-1997 I worked with companies like MicroMedia,
Mevelloor and Hindustan Computers, Tripunithura. In September 1997
I went to Mumbai for a better carrier. There I joined Mona-Lisa
Educational Research Foundation as a Senior Teaching Faculty. I
learned a lot of things from Mumbai. Which will surely help me
through out my life. Because of some personal reasons I returned
to my motherland in July 1999.
When
I was in Mumbai I got enough time to finish a course on Web
Designing. Which helped me to find a job here. In July 1999 itself
I joined Times Internet Club as an Internet faculty. In August I
joined ShyamNet as a Web Designer. Then I worked Times Internet
Club as a part time faculty. Because of the tough time schedules,
I stopped the job at Times Internet Club. Now I am a happy
employee at ShyamNet because of the working freedom and friendly
working environment.
A
Futuristic Vision
Like
any other man I also have a lot of dreams or aims in my life. The
first thing is my graduation. If your question is 'WHY?', you will
get the answer with in a short reading. After finishing my
BCA I will join for MCA. At that time I will start thinking about
some business as my own. I like Web Designing, so I want to stick
on this as long as possible. I also want to do some E-Commerce
course, which has greater opportunities in the future job market.
Before starting something as my own, I want to study each and
every possibility, because starting some business needs a huge
investment of money and efforts.
Why
I Joined Bangalore University's BCA Through Aptech?
Before
answering this question, I would like to explain about my
past-studies. When I was working at Kottayam, I joined Kerala
University's BCom. The study classes were conducted at Ernakulam.
I found it very difficult to reach Ernakulam for study classes
after finishing my job at Kottayam. Also it was very difficult for
me to study Commerce after taking Mathematics as a main subject in
College. So I dropped it.
After
that I joined IGNOU's BCA. After giving application I went to
Mumbai. After coming back I understood that IGNOU registration is
cancelled. At that time I happened to see Aptech's advertisement
for Bangalore University's BCA. I thought that Aptech's standard
is very good even though their fees are very high. So I decided to
join for BCA in Aptech.
